HOW I WORK
Doing it the right way
The thing I care about most is doing the work properly. When something breaks, the quickest fix is rarely the real fix. A band-aid gets the site working today, but it hides the cause, and someone has to work around it next month. I would rather take the time to understand why it happened and solve it at the source.
That is also why code quality matters so much to me. Clean, readable, reviewed code is what lets a platform keep changing safely for years, not just survive its launch.
- Fix the cause, not the symptom. Find the root cause before choosing the fix, and make sure it can’t quietly come back.
- Code quality is not optional. Follow the platform’s standards, review every change, and write code the next developer can understand and maintain.
- Raise risks early. Understand the requirements, spot gaps and trade-offs up front, and say so while they are still cheap to address.
- Build in performance, security and reliability. Design them in from the start rather than bolting them on later.
- Leave it better than I found it. Every project is a chance to reduce technical debt, not add to it.
DAY TO DAY
What I do
Lead the team
I lead a development team: reviewing code, planning the work and improving how we build and deploy, so quality doesn’t depend on who picked up the ticket.
Shape the solution
With new clients I start by understanding their technical needs, identify risks and gaps early, and design a solution that fits rather than one that is merely quick to deliver.
Connect it to the business
I work closely with project managers and stakeholders so technical decisions line up with business goals. Much of my recent work is B2B, where orders, stock, customers and pricing have to flow cleanly between the storefront and ERP and warehouse systems.
Great engineering is not just about technology. It’s about people, decisions and long-term impact.
